Long Beach Senior Arts Colony (LBSAC) is the result of a years-long joint effort between Meta Housing and the City of Long Beach to utilize public programs designed to revitalize communities through social and environmental considerations.

LBSAC is a 200-unit senior affordable housing community that marks the northern gateway into downtown Long Beach. Following its completion, LBSAC has become a catalyst for reviving the surrounding neighborhood. Considered a Transit Oriented Development, the project is located immediately adjacent to light rail and bus transit stops that provide access to educational, medical, retail, and employment centers.

LBSAC exemplifies Meta Housing’s fourth generation of arts-enriched senior housing, promoting “healthy aging” by emphasizing creativity, wellness, lifelong learning, and independence.

The community is designed for seniors earning between 30% and 60% of the area’s median income. Not only does it offer residents a safe, amenity-rich setting, but LBSAC is intentionally planned to support the community’s active interest in arts and entertainment, coupled with their desire to have a rich and fulfilling life.

LBSAC amenities include art studios, a theater and community room, library, audio/visual studio, classroom, computer lab, billiard room, and fitness center.
