Meta Housing has broken ground on Citrus Crossing, a 127-unit affordable housing community for seniors in Glendale, California.
The new senior housing community is being developed in the heart of Glendale and the community’s units will be priced for households earning 20%-70% of the area median income.
“Older adults are at the center of California’s housing affordability and homelessness crisis,” says Kasey Burke, President at Meta Housing. “For many seniors, they are being forced to choose between paying rent, purchasing food, buying important medications and receiving medical care. Due to these compounding factors, older adults represent the fastest growing age group of the homeless population in California. This is why it is essential that we continue to prioritize seniors when planning and developing affordable housing.”
The new 5-story building with underground parking will provide a variety of residential amenities, a private courtyard, and a new public paseo in the adjacent alley.
The development is located at 900 E Broadway in Glendale, CA 91205
