Meta Housing has broken ground on Palmdale Terrace, a 151-unit affordable housing community for families and individuals in Palmdale, California.
“California has increasingly faced a shortage of affordable housing, and this is especially true in Los Angeles County,” says Kasey Burke, President at Meta Housing. “With this shortage has come a rise in homelessness. By working together with cities and our construction and development partners, we aim to combat homelessness and bring affordable living to cities like Palmdale, where deep need has been identified.”
When construction is completed, Palmdale Terrace will offer a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units. All units will have fully equipped kitchens and bathrooms with onsite amenities including spacious community gathering areas, a shaded picnic area, a large children’s play structure, and a dog park. Two units will be dedicated for onsite managers, who will reside at the property and ensure that the residents and the neighboring community have a constant point of contact.
The community is located less than a quarter of a mile away from convenient neighborhood amenities, such as parks, public transit, grocery stores, public schools, and medical facilities.
Palmdale Terrace is expected to be completed in May 2023. The development is located at SW 25th Street East and East Avenue in Palmdale, California.
