Meta Housing, in joint venture partnership with Western Community Housing, has announced the development of Metro @ Buckingham, a 103-unit transit-oriented senior and permanent supportive multifamily development in Los Angeles, California.
The $41.2 million energy-efficient project will provide 51 units of affordable housing for seniors ages 62 and up as well as 51 units of permanent supportive housing. Intensive case-management services for the project’s supportive housing units will be provided by the County of Los Angeles Department of Health Services/St. Joseph Center. Offering rich resident amenities, the 77,979 square-foot multifamily community will feature 102 one-bedroom affordable units and one two-bedroom manager’s unit.

“Metro @ Buckingham will transform an underutilized, vacant lot in Marlton Square into more than 100 affordable senior rental housing apartments,” says Kasey Burke, President of Meta Housing. “This development meets a tremendous need in a market with a dearth of available affordable housing options for seniors. Further, the project’s permanent supportive housing will enable those in need to receive the services they require to thrive.”
The project is located in close proximity to a grocery store, pharmacy, medical clinic, mental health clinic, and numerous stores and restaurants. The transit-oriented property is also near the Metro Crenshaw/LAX light rail and bus lines, offering residents easy access to nearby services and communities. Metro @ Buckingham will be located at 4018-4030 South Buckingham Road in Los Angeles, California.
