Meta Housing, in partnership with Western Community Housing, Inc., LifeSTEPS, and the County of Los Angeles Department of Mental Health, celebrates the grand opening of La Paz Apartments, an affordable 42-unit multifamily community in East Los Angeles, California.
The project is specifically aimed to support and mitigate the lack of affordable housing in Los Angeles and house individuals who has faced the challenges of homelessness and chronic mental health issues.
According to Kasey Burke, the increases in rents over the last decade have far outstretched wage growth for most of LA’s workforce. This means that over a million households within LA County must stretch themselves financially to achieve a base-line level of livability and obtain a standard-size unit in their neighborhood.
Meta Housing is committed to providing more than just affordable housing, but access to community support and engagement.
“La Paz Apartments not only gives individuals a roof over their heads but provides residents with customized services and enrichment programs for residents to grow and thrive in a supportive and vibrant community,” says Kasey Burke.
The La Paz community features spacious studio, one-, and two- bedrooms units and offers residents access to ample on-site amenities including a large multi-purpose community room, fitness room, and a large courtyard.
