Meta Housing has completed the development of Metro @ Buckingham Senior Apartments, a 102-unit affordable seniors housing community in Los Angeles, California.

Over the last few years, demand for affordable housing for seniors has grown significantly as more baby boomers are beginning to retire and downsize. The U.S. Census 2020 estimates that within the next ten years all boomers will have reached the average retirement age of 65, indicating continued growth in demand for affordable seniors housing.

Metro @ Buckingham Senior Apartments is a transit-oriented community that is located within walking distance of the Crenshaw/Martin Luther King Jr. Station on LA County Metro’s Crenshaw/LAX light rail line and near a variety of public parks.

“Seniors are looking for walkable locations that are close to transit hubs and local amenities,” explains Kasey Burke, President of Meta Housing. “We tailor our communities to the needs of our residents and transportation is a key element for seniors. We want to ensure they have quick access to public transportation and can easily connect with the surrounding community.”

The newly completed apartment community features one-bedroom floorplans along with a host of high-quality amenities such as an on-site gym, game room, and library.

“Resident engagement is also a core component of our approach, especially in our senior communities,” says Burke. “This is why we incorporate amenities like game rooms and social gathering areas for residents to engage and interact with each other.”

Metro @ Buckingham Senior Apartments is located at 4018 Buckingham Road in Los Angeles, California.
