Metro @ Western is a 33-unit, transit-oriented, affordable apartment community in Los Angeles, California. The project is a joint venture partnership between Meta Housing Corporation and Western Community Housing, Inc., a Southern California-based non-profit public benefit corporation.
According to Meta Housing’s President Kasey Burke, the apartment community provides quality housing for homeless veterans and families.
“We are one of the most active affordable housing developers in Los Angeles. We place an emphasis on creating high-quality apartments that fill a need in the local community, are located near transit, incorporate unique amenities, and are sustainably built,” says Burke. “The ongoing inflation and economic uncertainty has led to increased housing unaffordability. This has created a tremendous need for affordably priced housing in LA, especially for veterans and families. Metro @ Western aids in filling this need.”
Furthermore, the project provides supportive services and Project-Based Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (PBVASH) vouchers for 14 units that target veterans experiencing varying levels of homelessness. The project has the full support of the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.
The $20.1 million development is located in close proximity to downtown Los Angeles, near the Western Stop of the Metro Expo Line, and less than a quarter mile from various public schools, a medical clinic, pharmacy, grocery store, retailers and restaurants. In addition to its quality location, the four-story apartment community features a variety of community-focused amenities including outdoor lounge areas, a large community room with kitchen, and a play structure, among other amenities.
Metro @ Western offers a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, and is located 3671 S. Western Avenue in Los Angeles.
